Congratulations to the winners of the Prismacolor Scholar™ Art Competition. From thoughtful reflection to colorful execution, the potential of these High School artists can't be denied! Each winning piece of artwork was created with Prismacolor Scholar™ Colored Pencils.
The idea of this piece is classical meets modern. This piece showcases two different instruments: one an electric violin and the other a traditional Chinese erhu.
To create this art, I was inspired by classical Chinese music and the Chinese culture. I also play the violin, so that inspired me as well.
Vibrant colors remind me of a collection of stars, fruits, oceans, and, most of all, clothing.
There is no limit to how many colors of how many tastes can be applied onto paper. I love the taste and color of orange, tangy sweet, and there's nothing better than creating an original scheme with Scholar Prismacolor pencils.
For Window to the Soul, I thought of mirrors and how it shows your reflection.
In the piece, instead of showing a normal reflection, I used an inverted version of the person that I've called their soul. The soul looks creepy and somewhat scared, showing that everything that goes on with a person, including the horrors and trauma go with them. It also shows that people hide what they truly feel, which is what I think the soul shows.
