I'm just curious...what music do you listen to while you draw or paint? Right now I'm listening through my Enya collection. Perfect for drawing butterflies. :oD -Derek
I'm so afraid of color... I tend to do a pencil sketch and stop there. I plan to do light No. 2 pencil sketches in the future before coloring, but I don't know where to go from there...How do you guys go from sketching, to coloring a piece?
So, the other day I was with a friend buying Prismacolor colored pencils and she saw the price and was freaking out. She tried to get me to buy cheap ones, but I said no, I needed Prismacolors. I told her they are the best of the best, and then she said "why?" and I could not give her a straight answer. Obviously I love Prismacolors and don't like using anything else and I know they're the best from experience, but what are the technicalities that make them the best????
A question, if I could.. what pencil sharpener do you guys prefer? My pencils leads keep breaking and the wood keeps snagging on the blades. I plan on buying/asking for a Prismacolor sharpener once Christmas comes around, but until then, what do you suggest? I use RoseArt and Crayola pencils since I can't afford Prisma ones just yet, if that helps at all. :3 Thanks, guys.

Hi everyone I just got my first set of prisma colors pencils and iv been trying to watch videos on how to use the blender marker n pencil . Can I please get tips n tricks to improve ...
This is not a tip, but a question. Which is the best surface for drawing with soft core colored pencils? I have tried mat board (ended in disaster). Some papers are ok, but I am a looking for a heavy, sturdy board surface. I have tried Ampersands boards, but the claybord (which works well) also eats up the pencils like crazy, it's so rough. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
I'm new to prismacolors, but how the heck do u use them?! i tried using them as regular crayola colored pencils, but they turn out horrible! what should i do?
Okay so i never did like coloring because i utterly SUCKED at it, i couldnt ever seem to blend the colors together to make a part lighter or darker like how you can shade with a pencil and make it much more realistic (i draw realistic, surreal, and fantasy LOL) Anyone have any tips for me on how to use color pencils and get the same results and drawing like a pencil?? Or do you guys think that maybe its because I'm too used to using only pencil and pen?
I love drawing manga and I think I'm pretty good at coloring the characters but when I start coloring the backgrounds of pieces I just don't have enough patience to do it correctly unless it's really simple!! Can anyone help me find a better way to concentrate?!?!
