Hi Heather, now that you mention it I remember seeing one of your pieces when I dropped mine off at the SD county fair! My little "Monarch #5" not only sold at the fair but won a "people's choice" award! I wish our Santa Clara county fair still held an art show.

You are correct about owls being in right now. The gallery owners were excited when I ran the idea by them. They said that owls are selling really well there. So, I got some owls to paint!

Thanks for commenting on my "Great Horned Owl" I love owls! I am doing a whole series for my show in January. This one has been a lot of fun and a great challenge. :-)

Thank you so very much for your kind comments on my pastel work. I'm new to pastels and I'm just loving them. My professor hasn't seen anyone use the technique I'm using before...I'm treating it like airbrushing with all the masked off areas. It's tedious, but fun. :oD -Derek
