Rusted Metal

This is how I render rusted and corroded metal surface: Start with a base layer of French Gray (70 or 90%). Overlay a rough layer of Dark Umber, but do not blend just yet. Overlay again with a layer of Chocolate (again, roughly), and blend as needed with Colorless Blender to take off the rougher areas. For areas of less oxididation, interspersed patches of Sienna Brown can accomplish the effect just fine. For more advanced corrosion, add a patch layer of Cool Gray 90% to the Sienna Brown patches (again, this doesn't have to be precise) and coming back with the White pencil to add the highlights of the bubbling-up corroded surface texture.

wow your gallery is one of the most unique sites if seen

Love your stuff!! Whimsical sci-fi and fun!!

A lot of really interesting concepts and themes going on here! I look forward to seeing more and am eagerly going to peruse the rest of your gallery now...

After looking through your art, I am very compelled by your subject matter and composition. The sinister yet mysterious feel of each piece is very grabbing. I love your technique - each piece is different, but your style ties it all together.

Thanks everyone...I've got these up on my website (I really need to remember to include links when I submit these things) along with some prints and events and other such fluff. http://www.schamballah.co m

These are very unique, I love them!
