When inking on finished colored pencil art test the reaction on a small piece of the same paper you will use, depending on what ink you use, it wont dry and will end up smearing or staining your newly made piece of art, or can change to a bluish tone in a few days. When using such fine products like Prismacolor, it is always recommended to make several tests when using other products combined with Prismacolor, including sprays or thinners, blenders, lacquer and protective products. Always protect your art from the sun and humidity, add a protective product like lacquer to protect the color pencil areas from becoming smoky with time. If this happens, rub a piece of soft fabric carefully on affected areas.
When using color pencils and markers, chose to color first with the markers and add shade and light with the pencils later, creating textures. Sometimes the markers used on top of the soft core pencils will smear the pencil and the tip of your marker could become clogged or could stain your art piece when used again on new pieces. This will preserve the luminocity and brilliance of your markers.
